As part of the West of England Works contract we are running a series of Behind the Scenes Industry Tasters for anchor partners’ participants to attend.

The aim of these events is to give participants a greater understanding of the range of opportunities in specific businesses and sectors and enhance participant confidence and knowledge when applying for work in these sectors. The events are not only for people who plan to work in the sector, but also aim to open participants’ eyes to the range of opportunities which may be available for employment in other fields and encourage them to picture themselves working in a particular setting.

Behind the Scenes participants will gain:

• An introduction to the business
• Information on the types of roles
• How they recruit
• Information on what skills, experience and qualification they look for in their ideal employee
• A first-hand experience of the working environment through a tour of the business
• A chance to speed interview a range of existing employees to gain further information and advice about working in a specific role or sector

To refer please email Hayliegh.Beckles@bitc.org.uk with the participant name, mobile number, email address and their participant reference number.
