The Park

The Park is a thriving neighbourhood centre for use by the local and wider community for learning, sport, leisure and employment opportunities.

The Park is a hub of tenant organisations and services working to improve the lives of the local community.

They are also a South Bristol Anchor Hub who refer participants to other anchor partners when appropriate. The Park provides a range of facilities which include a gym, café, sports hall, dance studios, conference rooms and a large main hall. These can be used by the community and hired by community groups or large organisations for conferences, events.

We offer several services which are on offer to the West of England partners: vocational qualification courses, personal and social development courses, employability courses and many other services.

Vocational Qualification Courses

Entry Level to Level 2
• Animal Care
• Childcare
• Construction
• Health & Social Care.

Accredited Qualifications
• Pearson BTEC
• CACHE.

Cost

Full time vocational is existing service which is funded by EFA, some SFA.


Personal and Social Development Courses

• Managing own money
• Dealing with problems in everyday life
• Managing social relationships
• Developing self.

This takes place on Tuesday afternoons and is available to Anchor & Specialist Partners. It can be tailored according to personal needs, however tailored courses would not be funded.

Cost

Tuesday afternoon is a service already available to Anchor/specialist partners.

Employability Courses

• CV Writing
• Preparing for an Interview
• Opportunities in Learning and Work.

Our employability courses take place on Tuesday afternoons and is available to Anchor & Specialist partners. It can be tailored according to personal needs, however tailored courses would not be funded.

Tuesday afternoon is a service already available to Anchor/specialist partners.

Introduction to DIY Course

Gain confidence in doing practical DIY tasks for yourself, in a supportive and friendly environment. Tasks include putting up a shelf, pictures and a curtain track, hanging wallpaper, painting walls and skirting and putting together a piece of flat pack furniture.

Dates and Times: The course will be 10am-2.30pm Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday September 25th – 28th. Further dates will depend on need.

Cost: £440 for up to 4 participants.

Introduction to Construction Course

This has the potential to lead to progression onto a BTEC Level 1 Award/Certificate in Construction. Basic insight and practical sessions into Bricklaying, Carpentry and Painting and Decorating.

Dates and Times: 2-4th October, 10am – 2.30pm. Further dates can be arranged depending upon need.

Cost: £500 for up to 4 participants.
