N-Gaged was formed in 2008 and offers training to both employed & unemployed individuals, helping them with employment needs. We provide vocational based courses to enhance employment opportunities, work with local employers delivering Sector Based Work Academies, offer apprenticeships as well as providing Careers Education, Information, Advice & Guidance with one of our specialists.

Focusing in: Logistics (including: forklift, warehousing), Construction (N-gaged are a recognised CSCS test centre) Care, Hospitality, Taxi Driving and Pre-Employment Training, the work N-Gaged undertaken has been recognized as exemplary by national blue chip companies, Trade Unions, Colleges, Job Centre Plus and individuals alike.

About this course
Safety for road users and passengers as well as those who come into contact with them, is of utmost importance. A recent study of experienced drivers showed that only 33% would pass the current theory test, with 50% failing basic road signs. As learners, considering driving a range of vehicles such as LGV’s and Vans for a living, you will be in control of much larger vehicles that have a significantly greater impact if involved in an accident. As recent high-profile news stories show, this can have a devastating impact on all involved. This course will look at why and how to carry out safety checks and how to respond during breakdowns or accidents while providing an update to your road safety knowledge.

What will I do on this course?

During this course you will:

* Identify and carry out checks and basic maintenance that should be carried out on a form of transport.
* Planning of journeys using technology and traditional methods.
* Know how to respond in cases of breakdowns or accidents.
* Identification of signs and signals.
* Know how behaviours and attitudes affect other drivers.

Construction CSCS Card

About this course
Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS) was created in the mid-90s with the aim of improving construction site workers’ competence in order to reduce accidents and drive up efficiency. Passing this will mean that you can demonstrate to employers an agreed high level of occupational competence, making you more employable within the sector. Since July 2014 is it now a requirement that you have a health and safety qualification at level 1 and pass the CSCS test to be able to apply for a 5 year Labourers card (Green CSCS.)

What will I do on this course ?

During this course you will:

* Understand why we use construction drawings and the tools and equipment required to produce them.
* Develop a theoretical understanding of health and safety in the workplace including COSHH, fire, accident prevention and reporting in accordance with HASAW Act 1974.
* Demonstrate good team working skills by working responsibly and cooperatively.
* Obtain knowledge in how to suggest improvements on their skills in working with others.
* Identify the regulations and guidance that apply to the safe moving and handling of resources, including the Manual Handling Operations Regulations 1992.
* Perform safe moving and handling as part of a team, with the use of lifting aids

Highfield Level 1 Award in Personal Development for Employability
BSC Level 1 Award in Health and Safety in a Construction Environment

Forklift Certificate (ITSSAR)

About this course
As of 1998 it became statutory regulation for anyone operating a forklift truck to have a certificate. This course, accredited by a nationally recognised awarding body will allow you to fulfil the legal needs placed upon you due to these regulations as well as teaching you how to operate your truck safely and efficiency.

What will I do on this course?

During this course you will:

* Understand principles of forklift
safety including pre and post operational checks.
* Be able to comply with statutory legislation.
* Demonstrate and be able to load and unload containers, vehicle, vessels or crafts.
* Have the ability to select, transfer and position loads using a forklift
* Gain knowledge in working with a selection of vehicles including counterbalance and reach trucks.

Certificate to access forklift trucks
