Clean Slate Training & Employment

CSTE clean slate training and employment

Clean Slate Training & Employment was set up to create and support paid work opportunities for people facing barriers to employment. Those we support include people with history of homelessness, mental ill-health, substance misuse, offending, or as refugees. We provide a peer-led drop-in service hosted by community projects in areas affected by poverty and unemployment. This creates a uniquely accessible environment for people who are long-term unemployed or suddenly jobless with no recent experience of job hunting.

Our 7 Signs Training is a structured programme that engages often disaffected benefit claimants and re-activates them as ‘can do’ jobseekers. It engenders confidence and motivation, helps them set goals that match their strengths and passions, and manages their expectations of employers (and their expectations of jobseekers), so they can plan and progress towards employment. Jobseekers can use any one of the six access points across Bath & North East Somerset to start or continue this process, not only working through these plans but accessing support for secondary issues like claiming benefits, managing money and developing IT skills and habits. Paid work experience is on offer to jobseekers becoming peer advisers or joining the delivery teams at Clean Slate Distribution
